The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: "I liked that the book went into more detail on what main character Katniss Everdeen went through. I also like that it is about the 3 topics of survival, violence in reality tv, and dystopia. It seems like it was something like our society nowadays." -10th grader

Halo: Selenium by Greg Bear: "The book switches between a couple of characters important to the overall conflict. My favorite part is when Bornstellar finally speaks to monitor Chakas and asks him if he'd face the Halos if it were his choice." -11th grader

Halo: Cryptum by Greg Bear: "For anyone interested in Halo and the forerunners, this book is perfect, yet only scratches the surface. My favorite parts are the ones with the Master Builder who commands a great deal of authority." -11th grader

Star Wars: Into the Dark by Claudia Grey: Book two of a trilogy, Into the Dark features Padawan Death Silas, the crew of the 'Vessel', and other Jedi. The most interesting part of the book is the time spent in the Amaxine Station, in which the ancient Sith were said to have faced a powerful foe." -11th grader

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown: "It's a compelling mystery involving history, religion, and murder. Adding to the enjoyment of this book is the likable and complex characters." -11th grader

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson: "I really enjoyed this book for a couple reasons. The world-building is absolutely amazing! As well as the unique magic system.
